I experimented last Friday, I painted a neon face on metal I showed it to the model she thought I had captured the look of her she especially liked the look in the dark, I have attached a photo I took in the dark under UV light.

On Saturday I made a mould of the back of the models head, the model wore a plastic bag on her hair and applied Vaseline to her face covering the hair line, this prevented it sticking to the mod rock, I used a bowl of cold water and pre cut 12 inch strips or less of mod roc, I put individual strips one at a time in water using thumb and fore finger pinch down the strip removing excess water then applied evenly across then down the face, three layers or more thick making sure all crevices and contours where covered shaping her hair and head.  I made several moulds of her face so I made two, one of which I have since started work on I have a mould of the back and front of the head.

Sunday, I made an extra mould of the back of the head as I only had one, so I experimented, I put a bag over the mould and covered it in mod roc, when it set I removed the bag and second mould from the original, I now have two moulds of the back and front of head. I have put the back and front of one mould together, and joined the two with mod roc this has set to leave a full head cast. I needed a stand something to keep the head upright.

Monday, using a plastic roses chocolate box I secured the mould and chocolate box together with mod roc, I then painted the whole thing in black, sadly the painted started chipping away from the box, I used gold adhesive strips along the hairline going back towards the bun, I also used them to create the eyes, brows and mouth then painted them lightly in neon paint, by painting the mould black the face is less visible in the dark and the eyes, eyebrows and mouth light up under UV light.

Tuesday, I decorated the base with an adhesive black and gold finish with mirror glass small mosaics at the base rim, I made a cross to represent faith and treble clef earing's to represent music I used sheet metal and made the pattern in low relief.

Face made in low relief on metal sheet with neon paint and UV torch lighting image up in the dark.

Front and back of mould joined with mod roc to create a full head mould.

This image shows the treble clef earing.

You can see the paint chipping on the roses chocolate box.
UV light on the neon paint, you can just make out the cross around the neck.

This piece is complete, now to start the next piece which will be a full head cast.
