Making the plaster cast face for the paper clock, required 4 beakers a bowl, straws, alginate, vaseline, plaster moulding bandage, plaster and water. firstly I used the straws as breathing appuratus and vaseline to protect the eye lashes and brows, then 1 beaker alginate to 2 beakers water, apply to the top of the head making sure all of the face is covered. when the alginate stops dripping so make sure clothes are protected we used a bin bag, get a bowl or beaker of water and ad small cut strips of the plaster moulding bandage and with a pinching motion working down the bandage removing excess water, then apply to the face gently blending it in, working from one side of the face from the top down to the other and across the nose and mouth, I would ask for a nod to make sure my model was comfortable and if not to put her hand in the air or on the table for me to stop.after just a couple of minutes I worked my way around the edges of the cast and got my hand underneath to gently remove the cast. the next process was to add 2 beakers plaster to1 beaker water and adding it to the cast and left overnight to set.
Above are images Of the model Eve from college done in fast drying clay, My paper clock that I have been working on.
